To cancel OpusClip Pro, open the OpusClip Dashboard, click the Crown icon in the lower-left sidebar, enter the subscription page, and choose the available cancellation or plan-change option. The change takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle, according to OpusClip’s current plan documentation.
Do not delete the account first. Export the files you need, record the renewal date and final plan status, then complete cancellation. The planner above turns that sequence into a dated checklist.
Cancel OpusClip Pro step by step
- Sign in to the OpusClip workspace that owns the paid subscription.
- Check the next billing date and current plan on the billing or subscription screen.
- Export any final clips, caption files, brand settings, or project notes you need outside the platform.
- Click the Crown icon in the lower-left sidebar to open the subscription page.
- Choose the cancellation option. If the product presents a downgrade first, continue until the page clearly shows the intended plan change.
- Complete every confirmation screen and survey.
- Capture a screenshot of the final status and effective date.
- Save any confirmation email or support message with the invoice records.
- Reopen the subscription page in a new session and confirm that the upcoming renewal has changed.
Menu labels can change. The proof that matters is not the button you clicked; it is the account state showing that the Pro plan will not renew at the next cycle.
Cancel, downgrade, or delete: choose the correct action
| Goal | Action | What happens next |
|---|---|---|
| Stop the next Pro renewal | Cancel the paid plan | Paid access normally remains through the current period |
| Lower future cost but keep paid features | Change to an available lower plan | The new plan begins on the next billing cycle |
| Keep only basic access | Downgrade to the available free or Starter tier | Projects and limits follow that tier’s current rules |
| Remove the profile and stored account data | Delete account after resolving billing | Account deletion is separate from subscription cancellation |
OpusClip’s documentation notes that an active subscription can prevent account deletion. Resolve billing first, wait until the subscription state permits deletion, and only then use the profile’s Delete account control.
What to export before cancellation
Inventory the work by output, not by project name:
- Final vertical MP4 clips in the highest required resolution.
- Clean versions without captions when another editor may be used later.
- Subtitle files or transcript text needed for accessibility and reuse.
- Approved captions, hooks, titles, descriptions, and social copy.
- Brand fonts, colors, logos, framing choices, and reusable presets.
- Source URLs, original media, or cloud locations referenced by the project.
- Invoices, receipts, renewal date, and the cancellation confirmation.
Open at least one downloaded video and subtitle file before relying on the archive. A file that exists but does not play or contains the wrong version is not a usable backup.
Credits, refunds, and current-period access
Cancellation usually stops a future renewal rather than refunding the current period. OpusClip’s terms state that a prorated refund for the remaining subscription period is not generally provided. Eligibility can depend on purchase channel, location, usage, and the terms accepted at checkout, so use the official billing page and support response as the authority for the specific account.
Project-credit refunds are a different feature from subscription refunds. OpusClip currently documents a project refund for eligible Pro projects within 14 days of upload when no clip has been downloaded. That restores project credits; it does not automatically cancel the subscription or reverse the plan payment.
If the cancellation control is missing
First confirm the correct workspace and account. A team member may not own billing, or the purchase may be attached to another email. Check invoices to identify the payer. Disable extensions that alter page content, try a private browser window, and reload the subscription page.
If the account still shows an upcoming charge, contact OpusClip support before the renewal. Include the account email, workspace, plan, invoice, renewal date, screenshots, and a direct request to stop auto-renewal. Keep the support transcript.
Move active work to SNAPVID
For projects that still need editing, start from original media rather than an already compressed social export. Create one representative video in SNAPVID, verify framing, captions, fonts, audio, and export settings, then migrate the remaining queue. Keep both tools active only long enough to compare the final files and close gaps.
OpusClip cancellation FAQ
Does canceling delete my OpusClip account?
No. Plan cancellation and account deletion are separate actions. A canceled plan can leave the account available on a lower tier after the paid period ends.
Can I use OpusClip until the next billing date?
Plan changes are documented as taking effect at the next billing cycle, so current access normally continues until then. Confirm the exact effective date shown on the subscription page.
Is deleting the account enough to stop billing?
Do not assume so. OpusClip instructs users to have no active subscription before account deletion. Cancel billing explicitly and preserve confirmation before removing the account.
